Patty Gaus
Patty is the founder and fearless leader of Gaus Acoustics, having started the company after recognizing a critical void in the commercial design process. She made it her mission to be the ambassador for educating and standardizing noise control initiatives in commercial A/E/C design industry.
Patty connected with acousticians, architects, interior designers, engineers to learn the industry and discovered that the discipline of acoustic design and noise control mitigation was largely uncharted territory. She soon learned from the design community, that acoustics and noise control was not an area of focus in most of A/E/C designers’ education and training. A champion for change, Patty is an advocate for educating the industry on the critical impact of noise and sound control on the human experience. She became a passionate consumer of acoustic education, product applications and design intelligence that equips her and her team with the knowledge to assist with design and product applications.
Patty started Gaus Acoustics in February 2012 with the help of her husband Tom, and it didn't take long for the business to grow to meet the demand in the area and expand its services to more holistically solve its client's acoustic problems.

Tom Gaus
Tom is the grizzled veteran of the Gaus organization in 1985 and began working with his father, Ed – one of the founders of the Gaus Scott Company. Yes, this was before office computers, cell phones, fax, email and texting. Tom could write cursive, so that helped. In 1995, Tom took over the company upon Ed’s passing and has done about every job involved in the Rep industry, but excelled at sales & estimating…which was waaay better than cleaning the toilets and cutting the grass in the back of the office (two jobs that Tom did well & religiously, but did not feel supported his “why”).
Tom helped form Gaus Acoustics back in 2012, where his knowledge of mechanical noise & vibration helped usher in a new direction for both companies – focusing on holistic noise control in any commercial or industrial setting – something that has been sorely lacking in the construction industry in past years. Few people or companies have the breadth of knowledge of how noise affects everything in our day to day lives (health, productivity, learning, well-being, etc.) as Tom and Patty.
Tom’s not the only one who has 60 years of experience and history backing him, you do too the moment you reach out to him and his team!

Andrew Gaus
Andrew is the third generation of Gaus to join the family business. He started his career working in technology development and software sales at Maritz. After a successful 5-year career there, Andrew decided to take his tech experience and apply it closer to home at Gaus Acoustics! He started by upgrading the company’s previous website and spearheading the Gaus team’s initial digital marketing efforts as he learned the ins and outs of the industry, and has since pivoted to spreading the word about the importance of well-considered acoustics in new construction projects and delivering solutions that drive results for our clients. Andrew married his college sweetheart Christy Pendergast, and loves golfing and attending live music shows in his free time.

Colin Robertson
When Colin joined the Gaus Acoustic’s team as our newest Estimator, he brought with him previous experience as an audio engineer and a bachelor’s degree in Audio Studies. (Talk about a win for us!) He understands that the acoustics of a room are half the battle when it comes to a good performance. Colin’s passions outside of the audio world are enjoying the finer things, cooking, woodworking, and bartending. He’s adaptable in many situations and hopes to be a Swiss army knife when it comes to helping the team achieve their goals. Colin is a hard worker, and we are very thankful to have him apart of our team.

Sue Noce
Sue joins us with 25 years of contacts and experience in the construction industry and an amazing track record of strong performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments. In her early career, Sue has started and made successful two companies – Noce Construction company where she took on bidding, accounting, hiring and was on the job working much of the time in every aspect of residential and light commercial construction with her then spouse. The second company, Small Town Treasures, was a craft shop in Ste. Genevieve where she did the build-out of the space, solicited renters and built dollhouses for her mother to sell with her many other crafts. Sue is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage and keep us all going, no matter what!

Tim Toolen
Tim has over 20 years experience as a graphic designer, and also has an extensive background and degree in the fine arts; painting, inks, charcoal and graphite, photography, as well as creative writing. Tie all that in with an eye for the production side of a project, as well as a sense of humor, and you have a fairly decent picture of the professional side of him. He started freelance full-time in January of 2020, and a short time later was introduced to Gaus via Daniel Stefl and loves feeling a part of the family! He's currently managing the Gaus brand and design direction, Harmony catalog, designed our new website, and anything else they decide to throw his way.
Tim may say he “just draws pictures”, but we don’t believe him, and you won’t either the next chance you get to work with him!

Ron Unterreiner
In his capacity as a non-profit consultant and mentor to the MBE and WBE contracting community, Ron has been working with the Gaus team in an advisory role for five plus years, assisting in getting our amazing story out to the many marketplaces we serve, guide us in estimating and project selection and helping to explore new markets and new customers. Ron's fifty-seven years of experience in the design and construction industry, all from the General Contractor design/build side has provided invaluable insight to the Gaus team of employees in making the best business decisions for our employees, our customers and our company.
Ron has more heart in what he does and the words he speaks than anyone we know. If you ever get the chance to gain some wisdom from him, don’t pass up the chance!
