4 Things Gaus Acoustics is Thankful for This Year

2020 has been a unique year. From record breaking forest fires to a global pandemic, there's no denying its been hard on everyone. It gives Thanksgiving an interesting twist this time around. From a bird's-eye-view it would be easy to write the year off as completely lost, devoid of things to be grateful for.

And although we here at Gaus Acoustics have felt our share of the pain this year as well, we also take Thanksgiving very seriously because it gives us a chance to look on the bright side of life no matter what else is going on in the world. Despite it all, we have so much to be grateful for.

As a small business serving a local and regional market, the connections we make with our friends, clients, colleagues and business partners mean the world to us. That's why we want to dedicate this post to all of you! So without further ado, here are just a few of the things we are grateful for in 2020.

1. The St. Louis Community

We could not be more proud to work in such a positive, supportive, thriving community. St. Louis combines all of the best aspects of a constantly growing big city, with all of the togetherness and friendliness of a small town.

We've been so encouraged to witness business owners coming together, adapting to a totally new way of doing things, and constantly staying connected by sharing tips, exchanging best practices, and getting each other involved as often as possible. Everywhere you turn there are people looking to help each other out in any way they can.

From developers, to architects, to engineering firms, to general and sub contractors, everyone involved in building up this city has opened their virtual doors to safely support each other.

The solidarity has been encouraging and we couldn't feel more grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the industry's best and brightest as we continue to develop this incredible city.

2. Our Gaus Acoustics Team

We have been so fortunate to be able to keep our full team intact throughout the pandemic. Not only that, but we've even added to our team! Its not a privilege we take lightly, especially as we watch national unemployment numbers climb.

We're a small business, so each team member is essential. We all wear multiple hats, we all bring something different to the table, and we all rely on each other every day to sustain and grow our business.

We are so grateful for our team's dedication and contribution. Its because of them that we have been able to grow in the face of turbulence. If you've worked with us before, then you know how incredible Daniel, Kaitlin, Tom and Patty are to work with. They are experts in their field, and they are dedicated to solving our client's problems the right way, on time, and under budget.

3. Our Supplier Partners

At Gaus Acoustics, we pick our supplier partnerships very intentionally. Our success and the success of our clients' projects depend on our supplier partners' solid manufacturing processes, consistently reliable service, and timely delivery. We've been so fortunate to work with the best that the industry has to offer.

And we're so grateful that throughout 2020, our partners have been able to continue innovating, avoid delays in manufacturing, communicate clearly and frequently to keep us connected with their status and operations, and even went as far as providing new and improved marketing and educational tools to help us further our knowledge and effectively stay in front of our clients.

Instead of withdrawing or slowing down, our partners like Acoufelt, Madrid, Pinta Acoustic, and Sound Seal have leaned into the challenges caused by COVID-19 and only strengthened our mutual position as leaders in this industry.

4. Our Health

If there's one thing we've learned this year, it is that we should never take anything for granted. Whether its a simple pleasure like walking mask-less into our local coffee shop or grocery store, or something bigger like our health, its become clear this year that things can change in an instant.

In light of this fact, we're endlessly grateful that our team and the people we work with have been fortunate enough to stay healthy throughout.

We have so much to be grateful for, we couldn't possibly capture everything in a single post. But we'd be remiss if we didn't say thank you to you, our readers, our colleagues, our clients, our partners, our friends.  Although this year didn't go as we expected it to, we've been fortunate to effectively make the best out of a tough situation and find a way to grow despite it all. We couldn't have done it without you, and we are dedicated to doing even bigger and better things in 2021.

We want to hear what you're thankful for! Shoot us a line, or comment below to let us know how your year has gone, and how we can help!
